The job holder will oversee the formulation and implementation of divisional engineering plans, maintenance procedures, and technical standards for all signaling, electrical, and communication systems. This includes ensuring that all systems are designed, installed, and maintained in compliance with applicable engineering standards, legal requirements, and international best practices, including ISO quality management systems. The role involves providing expert engineering advice on electrical, signaling, and communication functions across the corporation. The manager will lead the design, planning, and review of infrastructure projects, ensuring that technical specifications meet operational needs and support safe and efficient railway transport services. A key responsibility is overseeing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of signaling, electrical power systems, communication networks, and related infrastructure. The job holder will ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance through proactive maintenance strategies and continuous monitoring. Responsibilities for Signaling, Electrical & Communication Manager in Kenya

- Oversee outsourced contractors and consultants involved in engineering works and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Participate in rail incident and accident investigations involving electrical or signaling failures.
- Prepare technical documentation and specifications for procurement and tendering processes.
- Ensure effective maintenance of electrical installations in stations, workshops, plant, and corporate facilities.
- Undertake statutory electrical inspections, testing, and certification in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies for engineering systems and infrastructure.
- Coordinate preparation and execution of annual budgets, procurement plans, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of engineering systems and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.

- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for divisional performance.
