Job Description

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) invites applications from motivated, ambitious, and career-focused graduates for the position of Finance (Economists) Graduate Intern under its 2026 Judiciary Internship Program. This structured internship provides an excellent opportunity for graduates to gain practical exposure within one of Kenya's most respected constitutional institutions while contributing to the effective administration of justice across the country. The internship is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical workplace experience by allowing graduates to participate in meaningful assignments within finance and economics-related functions. Successful candidates will be attached to various Judiciary stations, tribunals, directorates, or departments where they will work under the guidance of experienced supervisors and mentors. Throughout the twelve-month program, interns will develop professional competencies, strengthen technical knowledge, and gain valuable insight into financial operations within the public sector. Participants will have the opportunity to support financial planning activities, assist in budget-related assignments, contribute to economic analysis, participate in financial reporting processes, and observe the implementation of sound financial management practices. The internship also introduces graduates to public finance regulations, accountability frameworks, institutional governance, and operational procedures that support efficient service delivery within the Judiciary. Beyond technical learning, interns will build essential workplace skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, ethical decision-making, analytical thinking, organizational effectiveness, and professional conduct. The program promotes continuous learning by exposing interns to collaborative projects, administrative procedures, and cross-functional engagements that broaden their understanding of public administration. The Judicial Service Commission values integrity, transparency, accountability, professionalism, and equal opportunity. Interns are expected to uphold these principles throughout the program while maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating respect for institutional policies, and supporting service excellence in every assigned responsibility. This internship is ideal for graduates seeking to establish a strong professional foundation in economics, finance, budgeting, resource management, and public financial administration. It offers an exceptional learning environment where participants can gain practical experience, improve employability, and prepare for long-term careers in government institutions, development organizations, financial management, economic planning, research, or corporate finance. The internship runs for twelve (12) months on a non-renewable basis and provides a monthly gross stipend of Ksh.25,000. Successful applicants should be willing to serve in any Judiciary station within the Republic of Kenya depending on organizational requirements. This program reflects the Commission's commitment to nurturing young professionals while strengthening institutional capacity through practical skills development and mentorship.
