Job Description

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is seeking ambitious and motivated graduates to join its Construction Management Graduate Internship Program. This opportunity is designed for recent university graduates who are eager to gain practical exposure while contributing to infrastructure development that supports the administration of justice across Kenya. The internship offers a structured learning environment where participants work alongside experienced professionals, receive practical mentorship, and develop technical and professional competencies within one of the country's most respected constitutional institutions. The successful interns will be attached to various Judiciary stations, directorates, tribunals, or departments involved in planning, supervising, maintaining, and coordinating construction and infrastructure projects. During the internship period, participants will gain firsthand experience in project planning, construction supervision, facilities management, engineering support services, documentation, quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and project reporting. They will also become familiar with government procedures governing public infrastructure development while learning how construction projects support efficient service delivery within the Judiciary. This internship is ideal for graduates who wish to build careers in civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building technology, project management, or construction management. Interns will participate in real workplace assignments that strengthen their technical capabilities while improving communication, teamwork, analytical thinking, and professional ethics. They will interact with multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineers, architects, project managers, procurement professionals, and administrative personnel involved in implementing Judiciary development projects. The program emphasizes continuous learning through coaching, structured supervision, workplace exposure, and performance feedback. Interns will develop practical knowledge in project coordination, contract administration support, preparation of technical reports, site inspections, documentation management, occupational safety awareness, quality control procedures, and infrastructure maintenance planning. This hands-on experience enables graduates to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice while preparing them for future employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors. JSC values integrity, accountability, innovation, professionalism, transparency, and excellence. Interns will therefore be expected to uphold high ethical standards, demonstrate commitment to assigned duties, respect confidentiality, and contribute positively to organizational objectives. The program also provides valuable exposure to public sector governance, constitutional values, and responsible stewardship of public resources. Graduates selected for this internship will receive a monthly stipend throughout the twelve-month non-renewable program and will be deployed to various court stations or Judiciary offices across Kenya depending on organizational requirements. Candidates should therefore be flexible and willing to work in different locations as assigned. This internship represents an outstanding opportunity for recent graduates to establish a strong professional foundation while supporting projects that enhance access to justice and improve public service delivery throughout the country.
